Sitting on our in-house 4-wheel drive dyno is the 2024 Toyota Prado 2.8, and we believe it’s the first one to be tuned at sea level in South Africa! We’ve just installed a Dastek plug-and-play system, complete with a 5-way map switch, and the results are fantastic.
What We’re Doing
We’ve just fitted a Dastek Plug and Play unit into the Prado, complete with a 5-way map switch. The plug and play system we’re using is top-of-the-line, featuring a specialist waterproof UniChip that comes with a secure bracket for easy installation. And for those concerned about warranties—don’t worry. These external plug-and-play units are designed to be electronically non-traceable, so you can keep your vehicle warranty intact.
Performance Results
After running it through the dyno, we’re seeing fantastic results. The Prado is now pushing around 190 kW, and with the 5-way map switch, you have options ranging from towing mode to fuel efficiency. There’s even a button to revert back to the original factory settings whenever you need to. It’s truly a versatile upgrade!
Why Go Plug-and-Play?
If you’re looking for a quick, hassle-free performance upgrade that won’t compromise your vehicle’s warranty, this plug-and-play system is ideal. It’s easy to remove and completely untraceable once unplugged.
