Why Brake and Clutch Maintenance Should Never Be Overlooked

Why brake and clutch maintenance should never be overlooked

When it comes to keeping your vehicle safe and reliable, your brakes and clutch are two of the most important systems to stay on top of.

At our mechanical workshop, we make these a priority with every service we do.

Proper brake checks start with removing the wheels, a lot of people don’t realise that you can’t properly inspect brakes without taking the wheels off. That’s why, during every

service, we carry out a full brake inspection, which includes removing all four wheels.

This allows us to properly check brake pads, discs, and other components for wear and damage. A quick look from the outside simply isn’t enough, and missing early signs of wear can lead to bigger problems or worse, unsafe driving conditions.

Don’t ignore your clutch. If you drive a manual vehicle, your clutch plays a big role in how smoothly your car runs. Over time, clutches wear down and small issues can turn into expensive repairs if left unchecked. One of the most overlooked things is clutch fluid. Low or dirty fluid can affect performance and make gear changes difficult. Checking and maintaining proper fluid levels is a simple step that can make a big difference.

Prevention is always better (and Cheaper). Regular inspections help catch problems early, before they turn into costly repairs. Worn brake pads, low fluid levels, or early clutch wear are all things that can be sorted out quickly if picked up in time.

The Hudson Auto way.

We believe in doing things properly, not rushing through a job. That means taking the time to inspect what needs to be inspected, especially when it comes to safety-critical parts like brakes and clutches.
